Thousands of American Muslims convened for longest-running American Muslim convention.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA begins its annual Peace Conference known as Jalsa Salana today in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
In accordance with Islamic guidelines to be loyal to one's homeland, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA proudly hoisted the United States flag to begin the proceedings followed by the traditional Islamic weekly Friday sermon. Speeches on the beginning day discussed the spread of Islam worldwide, khilafat, and worship.
The Community is among the nation's oldest American Muslim Organizations and has been the leading Muslim voice of denouncing terrorism in the United States with a message of peace and moderation. Thousands of American-Muslims, dignitaries from the U.S. and Pennsylvania State government, as well as hundreds of non-Muslims attended the convention.
